I like Fry from Pitch Black. Her arc is excellent. She’s outmatched physically, and she’s well aware of it, but she has other traits and is the reason anyone at all got off the planet. Johns dominates her physically, she doesn’t even try because it would be pointless, but she’s worth 10 of him.

@MagicMan MagicMan Interesting to hear of your grandmother. Mine also survived WW2, lost her friends when the Germans bombed her school to the ground, lost her home, lost her father, her family, lost everything.. from upper middle class family in Coventry to outright poverty. Moved country by herself as a very young woman, met her love, he died of one of the worlds rarest conditions at 58. Her only son died at 36. Truly the kindest and sweetest person you will ever meet in spite of all that. Mentally that woman is goliath. It would be a shame if we judged her on her ability to beat me up.

@Matty Boy Anderson I openly mock anyone who calls me an ist/phobe/etc. That straw man has run its course. I can’t look in my nieces eyes and tell them they’re on their own. They will inherit what we allow to happen, and I don’t want to see that for them or my eventual kids.
