I wonder if they realise how much money they’ve lost from people who see exactly what you see. I used to go to gold class for any movie I saw, two tickets, 2 serves of nachos, couple drinks, it was basically $150-$200 each time. That ended with the force awakens, I haven’t spent a cent since.

@derpy alien Every action, equal and opposite reaction. This movement to make movies into virtue lectures has infected our entertainment to the point I literally don’t bother anymore. My entertainment from that industry I used to love and spend money on, is now satisfied by laughing at the drinker having a go. Some people like me can write it off, I have other hobbies. Others their hobby IS sci-fi, they go to conventions, they go to the movies, they collect memorabilia, they cosplay, etc.. they’re invested.. and not only that, for many of them, this hobby got them mercilessly ridiculed in school. You didn’t tell people you liked sci-fi when I was in school, it was social suicide. It’s a nasty irony to use this genre as a platform to lecture people on social nuance’s, given its primary fanbase were marginalised in school for liking it. They had their ‘culture’ ‘appropriated’, and used to tell them why they suck.. if you look at it from this perspective, it’s understandable why they’re pissed.

@darthmalagus He’s struggling with the simple human process of ‘fight or flight’, which would have been 100x given those Neanderthals had barely developed a frontal cortex at that point.. still lizard brain, which means any reaction will be purely instinctual. Fight or run.

@Michael-lu7xp It’s new to them, it’s massive, it’s ominous.. survival instinct says run. The human brain functions by filtering information through the frontal lobe, assessing it, then acting. However when stressed, the capacity to use that part of the brain reduces, under duress, it can shut down completely, reverting to instinct to make decisions. Given their stage of development, the frontal lobe would drop out in any stressful situation and lizard brain would take over. It’s fairly safe to assume how they would act if they are based on the human evolutionary chain. Fight or flight. However, I can’t argue that you may be correct, that specific group of cro-mags may act out of character, and past their cognitive capacity, and just stand there like planks……………….. but they will probably run.

@derpy alien The problem is, it has nothing to do with supporting the movie, the story, the characters.. it’s a virtue flex. Movies are made to push a narrative instead of tell a story.. it’s trash and needs to be ridiculed.

@YouScareMe1 Thor wasn’t race swapped, but he was turned into a fat, useless, derelict who handed the leadership of his people over to a diverse female because he just wasn’t good enough to lead them… let that sink in. What they did with that character is trash. Bad example to bring up.

You see, there are lots of differing genres of movies/shows/etc. For some reason the genre I liked my entire life and used to get flack for liking, suddenly became popular, and had to be changed to suit the tastes of ‘everyone’, and is therefore no longer the genre I liked.

@Masonia_ I guess if you need a happy happy ending, then end game was for you. I liked the fact infinity war was balance.. everybody lost, yet won. Thanos’ objective was not evil. He gave up what he loved so he understood the gravity of his conquest. It cost him his power, his health, his family. It was selfless and he was the only one with the conviction to do it, no matter what it cost him personally. A beautiful future for all who remained. Everything comes at a cost.

@thomaspanditfan2435 What storyline’s are you referring to? Why bother killing a character if you just bring it back.. times this by 100.. why bother killing half the cast just to bring them back? If death is easily undone, it has no gravity anymore.

@thomaspanditfan2435 Yondu was a boss, and certainly a meaningful death. Possibly even a small tear for how they set it up and implemented it. Was good cinema. Guardians somehow feels like a separate entity in spite of being shoe horned into the last 2 avengers movies. Aside from that, I see no real meaningful deaths. Agent was a background character, Odin had minimal screen time and his entire purpose was to be succeeded. Mutant was introduced and killed in the same film. That world existed for a long time, it had its arc and came to an end, it would have been bold of them to end it in a way other than “the heroes win and everybody has lemonade 😃”. Can I ask, do you see Thanos as a villain?

@thomaspanditfan2435 How are you laughing now, that has been the premise of our entire discussion 🤔 Literally our discussion is about me believing it should have ended at infinity war, and you being hysterical about characters dying off, and needing a movie to bring them allllllll back to life for a happy ending so you can sleep at night 😃😆😃 A villain, you say…. People in that universe have known nothing but full bellies and blue skies since Thanos, how can he be a villain?! He paid the ultimate price so he could understand the gravity of his actions, and still had the conviction to follow through for the greater good. Heroism at its finest. Without him, the universe would have ended up like Titan. Remember Titan? Some people died there…… it’s ok, though.. they were brought back to life in end game 😃 ….well, the heroes you care about were, the planet was still a desolate wasteland, destroyed by overpopulation 😃😆😃 Since you’ve forgotten what the discussion was about.. balance.. it was a perfect ending. End game was unnecessary unless you can’t deal with characters being killed and need the ‘heroes’ to ‘win’…. When I was 14 I would have loved end game. As an adult, I enjoy the balance of infinity war. Everybody lost, everybody won. The hero is subjective, clearly.

I don’t really see the need to kill any key characters off prior to the crescendo of a decade of cinema, but have no issue with a slaughter when it comes to a close. You’re saying they have killed off many key characters along the way, I’m merely pointing out they haven’t.

@thomaspanditfan2435 I said it above. The universe was dying, his own planet that used to be a utopia became a wasteland, despite his warnings everyone died… in the exact way he warned them about. Instead of 50% living, 100% died. He knew what had to be done to ensure the universe had a future, he sacrificed the only thing he loved to understand the gravity of his actions, and still had the resolve to follow through with what HAD to be done to ensure the future of the galaxy. Cost him his family, his empire, and left him physically disabled, yet he still did what nobody else had the strength to do, in spite of what it cost him. True heroism.
