@yassgrass6491 If they create politics specific to the world they’re telling a story in, then for sure.. but inserting a specific set of modern day identity trash into the core of every movie with importance of it being above telling a story. Lecturing a specific demographic on their ‘privileges’. Cut it out and go back to telling stories. People that need the lecture aren’t watching, and wouldn’t listen anyway.. rest of us don’t want to be condescended to with that trash.

@elinope4745 Can I ask, how much impact do you think the opening scene of Inglorious Basterds would have if you didn’t understand a single word? Would it be impactful and engaging to read what they said instead of enjoying the nuances, facial expressions, tone, delivery of that scene?

@elinope4745 Yeah for sure. For me, reading distracts me from what is happening on screen. If I want to read a story I’ll read a book. Sure you consume pop culture.. just not western pop culture, you consume Chinese pop culture instead. I think this last 5 years of movies has put a nail in it for me. I’ll play 6 hours of guitar, but can’t tolerate a 90 minute movie.

@stryfe0 I read at about standard pace, seems you don’t read at all or I wouldn’t have to reply to you with same thing I posted earlier……… Maybe ‘u’ can enjoy those things without understanding the dialogue ‘lol’, but as I stated earlier, I don’t enjoy it. ‘u’ can say the same thing 1000 different ways, none of that is delivered in words on the screed accompanied by white noise you don’t understand a word of. As I also said earlier for reference to support my point…. How impactful would the opening scene of inglorious basterds be if you didn’t understand a word they said. If it would be the same for you, then possibly the subtleties of speech are something you struggle with?

How about reading comprehension, given I said you may struggle with the subtleties of SPEECH, to which you replied you “can adjust your reading pace any time”……….. 🤔 I’ll say it for a third time… I don’t enjoy it. It doesn’t interest me. I have no desire to watch something in another language, because you miss the nuances of language in the delivery of the scene. How is this so hard for you to get your head around?! Possibly speech is not your best form of communication, so reading it or hearing it spoken is indifferent for you? We all communicate differently. Thank you for your suggestion, however….. I have no interest in ‘practicing’ watching foreign films, because (for the 4th time) they don’t interest me. Are you catching on? I’ve never watched anime, not one single time.. just as I’m assuming you’ve never sat down with pro tools and created music for hours on end.. because it probably doesn’t interest you. People have differing interests… is it sinking in yet?!

@stryfe0 Quote me saying that. Again, don’t make up narratives, kiddooooo ‘lol’. My reasoning was the limited delivery in the scene by removing language, and the nuances in delivery, facial expressions, etc. I guess if you’re watching anime, that is less of a factor now, isn’t it. 😂 fkn weebs.

@ryanotte6737 I checked out Firefly, and watched the directors cut of Kingdom of Heaven. This era of movies made me pick up the guitar instead. Sucks to see characters and franchises that shaped my youth turned into lectures about why I’m an aberration of a human, but I’ve discovered I would much prefer to play music anyway.
