  2. DesuPacito I can get around the rally for it being impressive, but I’ve never really liked timing based ‘racing’. Flag to flag will always be the purest form. Racing the track takes skill, but passing or defending (or both at the same time) completely changes that dynamic, because there is no longer a perfect line.. THIS is racing. Now if you wanna talk rally cross... I’m all in :)

Fire every single person who has anything to do with F1 and completely start again, or don’t waste your time. The corruption is so deep, the politics so convoluted, that the sport will never be anything other than what it is.

  4. calibrazxr750 How does that incentivise poor performance.. whoever is LEADING the CHAMPIONSHIP starts at the back, and so forth.. if your performance is bad, you can’t win the championship.. every driver is trying to win the championship. I have to know how that worked in your head.. not trolling, I’m serious. How did you come to the conclusion that drivers will sabotage their own season to start at the front? Do they sabotage their own race and finish last so they can start from the front again next round? Then next round do they start from pole and try to finish last again? So they get pole again next round? Seems like going from pole to last every race and finishing the championship with zero points wouldn’t be good for your career. If I’m missing something, let me know.

  8. PhedXMan7 These guys get paid hundreds of millions of dollars to drive really fast surrounded by a full metal cage.. GP riders go 360kmh plus wearing leather as protection.. F1 drivers are beyond safe in relativity and get paid 1000x more.. fuck their safety, racing isn’t safe, and they are safe compared to most. The circuits should be safe, with emergency services on hand, more than sufficient runoff, stop going to ridiculous street circuits, “don’t race on the street” is safety rule #1..... but outside that, this isn’t knitting. If you want to push the limits of land speed, there is a chance you will die, if that is a concern to you, you aren’t a racer and shouldn’t be racing. I’m sure many others will put their hands up for the 200 million dollar contract you just signed.

  11. DesuPacito I also don’t mind the karts, because they are narrow enough for passing. Basically, any form of racing that lacks consistent passing, isn’t racing. As a bike fan, and a fan of the TT, I will put that in the pile as well.. it’s not racing, it’s a time attack.

F1 is amazingly impressive, watching on-board footage is mind blowing.. but after that initial 1-3 minutes of awe.... what is keeping fans tuned in? Is it a world racing championship? Can’t be, there is never any racing, and we know who wins before the weekend begins.. which leaves us with a politically riddled start grid followed by hours of multi million dollar machines circulating alone.. Nobody wants to watch that, and the numbers show this fact. If you want COMPETITION you need RULES or it’s just pay to win. Which evidently, nobody cares about.

No, motorcycles will always trump cars as pure racing, any era you want to choose.. pick the best era in any car world title, and the worst era in any motorcycle world title and the racing will still be better. I don’t think car drivers actually understand what racing is, you sit on your ass, your body has no input, you have one brake, no balance required, no strength, no cardio, you pass in the pits, you’re safe in a metal cage, you have constant team communication to assist your ‘racecraft’, mirrors for blocking.... MIRRORS ON A RACE MACHINE, I didn’t realise we raced backwards. No matter what era you chose, no racing has ever been done on 4 wheels, just overpaid pussies driving in circles for hours, 20 seconds apart on track.
