One is an American, one is a New Zealander. These countries raised, clothed, fed, moulded, housed, educated these men, and when they found success, they gave credit to a country they barely know. Nothing proud or respectful about that.

@ajmjl9102 I enjoy Thai food, doesn’t make me Thai. I’m of Norwegian heritage, but I’m still an Australian and would NEVER give Norway credit for who I am.. AUSTRALIA moulded me, grew me, shaped me. They are social posturing, it’s not respectable, it’s business. Israel said Whittaker isn’t a real Australian and has no loyalty, claiming himself to be a kiwi in the lead up to their fight.. now he claims he’s Nigerian. Which is it?
2
@MarvoloSalazar He said nothing about fear, he spoke about professionalism. Claiming you wont fight someone because they're the same colour as you, is idiocy. Neither of them are Nigerian, and if they were, they would have an amateur record made up of other Nigerians, given 99% of amateur fights are in your own state. His reasoning, which is delivered in an American accent, from an American, to an American, in America.. makes no sense. American Fighter wont fight New Zealand fighter because they have the same skin colour.

@Merlinthehappypig HAHAHA exactly this.. "he knows what it is, theres no family in there, no friends in there"
1
Having the same skin colour as someone classes as brotherhood?
1
@nathanstark4504 No, one is American, one is New Zealander.. neither of them have anything in common with people from Nigeria past skin colour. It’s social posturing. Israel will claim he’s from NZ one day, and claim he’s Nigerian the next, depending what suits his situation.
1
@vincygarifuna Because he's an American, with an American upbringing, education, accent, passport. Skin colour doesn't change where you grew up.
1
Yeah, coner really fought 'anyone' by going through Siver and skipping the entire top 5 for that title shot..
1
hahahahahahahahahahaha
1
Neither of them are in Nigeria. One is in America and one is in NZ. There isn't a single fighter out there who will share their glory, it's an individual sport.. this is all racial posturing.
1
Neither are African.
1
@luddechamp Incorrect, read above.

Sounds like the dad should have made better choices if he cared about being a dad. We give parents far too much leeway for failing their children.
1
@LEERG Not all parents are good parents, champ. "venturing out" often opens your eyes to how scummy they are truly are.
1
He's not proud to be American though, he claims he's from Nigeria to anyone who will listen. This is classless.
1
One is American, one is a New Zealander.. neither are Nigerian. I hope you have a fighter who actually comes from your country win a belt, but it isn't either of these men.
1
@azeezsodipo5366 How can it be a Nigerian issue when neither fighter grew up there, speaks the language, understands the culture, or has anything in common with the Nigerian people past skin colour?
1
It's prize fighting. Any fighter playing it safe for a W, will get called out by the fanbase.
1
This is idiocy, neither are Nigerian, if they were, the would have already fought each other on the amateur scene in Nigeria. Imagine a Frenchman refusing to fight another Frenchman, American refusing to fight an American.. IDIOCY.
1
He's American, Israel is Kiwi. Neither of them live in, or grew up in Nigeria. Neither of them are Nigerian. It makes zero sense for a champion not to want to hold as many belts as possible in their short reign of physical prowess.
1
They will get systematically destroyed by a pro fighter. Being a violent savage doesn't make you a pro fighter, bud.
1
Save his brain for what, his upcoming career as a neurosurgeon? This is a word champion fighter, that is what he does, if he had your mindset towards his career, he wouldn't have one in the first place. After fighting he will likely go into broadcasting or coaching, and just like the plethora of retired MMA fighters without CTE, will live out his life just fine cognitively.
1
Why?
1
Glad an American and a New Zealander could bring out your patriotism.. strange, but whatever works for you.
1
haha, applied logic.
1
So, you've never seen a single clip of him outside this one?
1
@victormoore3891 It was a good and close fight, Colby was up on the cards and fought nearly 4 rounds with a broken jaw. What part of you struggles to acknowledge that?
1
It's foolhardy.
1
@jugginnfinessing862 Neither of them are Nigerian, and neither of those belts will ever go to Nigeria. One is in CKB in NZ, the other is in America. Fighting is an individual sport, no champion in history has ever been willing to share their glory, or let another fighter have something they know they could take. This is pseudo racial posturing.
