The ONLY time octagon control means ANYTHING is if NOTHING else happened. It is the dead last scoring criteria. 1 jab landed beats 5 minutes of octagon control. No, taking someone down when they immediately get back up doesn’t mean anything, you need to establish position and actually do something with it. I power slam, yes, but desperately trying to drag them down against the cage and failing, is not scoring criteria.
