I can't believe she can sit next to the one who killed her kids. Honestly, if you kill children who aren't taking up arms against you, you should never be let free. I don't understand why he's being allowed to live a normal life after murdering children...

GangsterNerd How much time did he serve? What kind of kangaroo court would let a man free after murdering children in cold blood? The political party also runs the courts, and was behind the genocide in the first place. Luckily Omar al-Bashir was ousted yesterday - hopefully a proper government can be set up that can give more assistance to the victims.

bittercottoncandy Yeah, it feels like Stockholm syndrome... She saw him get out, and since he took her livelihood (her whole family) she has to live there to survive. He basically got away with it, and now she has to pretend to get along with him so she can have housing and livestock, thinks that were taken from her by the man who took her family. It doesn't make me feel good to see this "reconciliation." It just feels like they're torturing her by forcing her to be friends with the monster who took everything from her, and honestly i feel sick thinking about it.

Ben Williams How do you forgive the guy who can talk so casually about killing your children right in front of you. As he discussed it in front of her, he showed no emotion. He didn't shed a tear, his face didn't change, he nonchalantly spoke about throwing her children in a pit with a straight face. Keep in mind, he's getting off easy - he killed children and gets to live in a quaint village like nothing ever happened. She lost everything, and has to pretend like nothing ever happened just so she can have her livelihood back. It's very clearly an unbalanced power dynamic that gives me hardcore Stockholm syndrome feelings. She has to forgive him to survive. That's the difference.

That man should be working in a labor camp, sending her all his profits to support her for the rest of his life.

Ben Williams It's a "reconciliation village" - you don't think she feels obligation to forgive him in order to stay there? It's in the name of the village, are you serious right now??
