there probably is no god, and even if there is, it's all the same one. god, allah, zeus, shiva, yahweh, whatever you call it, it's just the universe. it's everything. there are just different ways of worshipping the universe for giving them life. but there really isn't any evidence that the universe is listening. but even if it is, i believe just being a good, honest, kind person is all you need to do. none of these antiquated 2000 year old religions. they came about during the same time as the greek and roman gods.
and if one religion really is right, do you honestly believe a just god would damn everyone else who doesn't follow it? what about uncontacted tribes in the amazon? are they all damned? it just doesn't make any sense. most religions believe in a vengeful sadistic god who would damn anyone who doesn't think like them.
in reality, religion was just a way to control people with no moral compass. but after 2000 years, times have changed, but scripture hasn't. it's archaic, and doesn't represent our current world.
if they get some kind of meaning out of it, then fine, but she didn't need a "get" to go to a courthouse and legally marry someone else after her and her ex-husband had a legal divorce. there was nothing stopping her except archaic beliefs from millennia ago, made to prop up the patriarchy. before that, matriarchal societies were just as common as patriarchal societies. but look where we are now. it's gross.
