@kimobrien. People in Cuba aren't free. If you think so, then you have no idea what freedom even means.

In Cuba, the regime owns the the means of production. That is called a dictatorship.

@--973-- Interesting comment considering that Puerto Rico has no political prisoners, and a per capita GDP three times that of Cuba. Most Cubans would love to be Puerto Rico. In fact, many Cuban refugees from Castro moved there. Cubans can't vote but they can vote with their feet and hundreds of thousands have fled Castro's Communist Paradise.

@--973-- Cuba's population is nearly 3.5 times as large as Puerto Rico's and yet their economy is about the same size. Haiti is a basket case and Cuba is heading their way economically. Trying to apologize for Cuba's failed economy by bringing up Haiti is a dead end argument. I don't see anyone moving to Cuba. But lots of Cubans are fleeing. They would feel lucky to be in Puerto Rico.

@kimobrien. People in Cuba can't elect their government, they live in a dictatorship. They can't speak freely about their political view or grievances. They can be imprisoned, tortured or even murdered for expressing their views. All of those things are basic human rights.

@kimobrien. What complete and utter BULL. Since Castro took over there have never been free and fair elections in Cuba. People are given no choices. According to Human Rights Watch in 2020, there were 1,800 arbitrary arrests in the country. 500 plus protesters were arrested this year just for speaking their minds. You are spewing Communist propaganda.
1
@kimobrien. How on Earth would you know what Cubans want when they aren't allowed free and fair elections? How arrogant you are. Cuban people were arrested for protesting, not destroying property. Stop lying. It is disgraceful.
1
@kimobrien. Why don't you move to Cuba if it is such a worker's paradise. Just remember, you will have to spend hours in line to buy basic food items. LMAO
1
@kimobrien. Hilarious. Cuba's Communist regime is dying. Even they know it. You are living in a socialist fantasy world. Good luck. LOL
1
@kimobrien. Why would you oppose the Cuban people having their own conventions, forming their own political parties, nominating their own candidates and having their own elections? Answer: You know your communist dictator would lose.
1
@kimobrien. You blather on and on about your hatred of the USA but you don't explain why you are against the Cuban people forming their own political parties and nominating their own people to run for office. You support dictatorship and call Cuban refugees criminals. You hate the Cuban people. Fascists like you always have hated ordinary people.

No one forced the communists in Cuba to ruin their own economy. They did a good job by themselves.
1
@--973-- Castro forced out the middle class of his country, stole their business and ruined the economy and it only took a few months. The Cuban people have been paying for this communist insanity ever since. When they complain they are jailed, tortured, murdered or forced into exile.
1
@--973-- Then why don't you move to Cuba? I'm sure they would welcome you with laughter considering that NO ONE is fleeing to Cuba. In Cuba you can get a free education and stand in line every morning to buy rice and beans. The communists have always blamed their utter failures on the embargo. It is a convenient way of hiding their own incompetence.
