Putin's casualties are much worse. He is using his army and mercenaries as cannon fodder in his sick fantasy for a neo-Soviet fascist state. Putin IS the fascist in this contest and that is why more and more of his soldiers are having second thoughts about dying for his corrupt, murderous regime.
