@中国的主人 Ukraine's strategy is to wear down Putin's army and when they have to, give a little ground. They predict that Putin won't be committed to a long war in which he loses most of his army and I bet they are right.

@ryusaepha5401 They withdrew because the Ukrainians were killing them in huge numbers. The Russians will keep dying.

@ryusaepha5401 If you want to defeat Ukraine you have to defeat the Ukrainian military which is something that Putin has less ability to do everyday. But capturing the three largest cities in Ukraine, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odessa was his primary goal at the beginning. First, a large part of the economy exists in those cities plus a good percentage of Ukraine's population. Control any of those cities and you weaken Ukraine's ability to fight. He lost the battle for all three. So now he is bogged down in exactly the kind of war no one would want: a World War 1 style trench war where he advances a few meters a day at huge cost, while Ukraine buys time and trains an army of 900,000.
