Putin realizes that he can't govern a nation of 41 million people who despise him so he is trying to drive out as many as he can. The Russians ethnically cleansed parts of Poland in 1939 and again in 1945. They have a long history of ethnic cleansing their fellow Slavic people. If you are further confused, talk to a Ukrainian.

What Ukraine does NOT have is a bio weapons program. But Russia does and they have used their bio weapons to kill people time and time again.

So do 5 million Slovakians, so do 4 million Moldovans, 2 million Lithuanians, 2 million Latvians and 1 million Estonians. Every single country in Europe that borders Russia is either in or wants to get into NATO. Why? Because of a history of abuse and domination by Russia and a fear of Putin. The only exception is Belarus which is controlled by a dictator who is Putin's friend. NATO isn't the problem. Russia is, Putin is.
