  2. Hence, it was bad timing and lack of nimbleness by Siemens in a middle of a semiconductor falling price crises. North Tyneside and Northumberland, probably, have a lasting bitter taste about the collapse of the Siemens fab. I doubt the UK electronics industry can recover, without massive government support which goes against the grain of UK government policy, particularly to revitalize industry and jobs in the North-East.
