The multiverse is more-or-less unprovable because of empericalism. We can prove much of the physical laws of the universe by being in it and experimentally observing and testing them invidivually or in concert. We still don't understand many very well (especially gravity), but it is a testable observable phenomenon. For example, we can describe what gravity does (with mass) but what gravity is, is a harder nut to crack. Is there an exchange of virtual gravitons for example and why dark matter only interacts gravitationally? Unobservable phenomena occur beyond the event horizon of black holes or in a fabled multiverse (outside the universe, which is a big hidden problem). Experiments have not been set up (in black holes) because of extreme gravity, for example. Hawking radiation is a boundary conditions of black hole event horizon, but is not what is going on within. The multiverse is the same with further restrictions, whereas the black hole event horizon boundary at least occurs on the edge of space-time. We have no idea where the boundary of the muliverse lies. Furthermore, the mulitverse is unscalable, really unscalable dimensionally since the Planck Length is meaningless there; we are outside space-time.
