The invasion of Poland is described incorrectly at many points; 1. Never called "Blitzkrieg" in any German armed forces manual, military intelligence traffic (decoded), or position papers by the OKW or OKH (Army commands) or indeed by Hitler, Goebbels, or any Nazi bigwig. 2. The Polish cavalry never charged German tanks on horseback with lances; that would be f**king suicide. Instead they fought intelligently as dismounted infantry or light horse (using their horses for manoeuvre, not fighting in the saddle). 3. "Masses of tanks charging into Poland", needs careful consideration, as it implies that the Wehrmacht (German army) was principally made up of tank units, which it was not. It was principally made up of infantry units with supporting artillery units. The tanks were an (important) adjunct to battlefield tactics, and unless you completely believe Gen. Heinz Guderian memoirs, did not win the battle of Poland (or France) on their own.
