Regulations largely benefit governments and corporations and can put a cost imposition on small business and consumers. As for infrastructure costs, regulations offer only large profits to vested interests, such as a favoured civil construction company. Hence regulations often enhance corruption over fair competition and adds costs to average consumers. In building their railway network extension, the Madrid metropolitan government did a better thing than their British counterparts (which is kind of surprising for Spain, but good on them). Hence, political and ecomonic educational awareness (such as is this channel contributes), forces governments to change their lazily corrupt ways.
