  1. Chinese made steel quality has improved from a terrible base in the 1990s, but currently Chinese made EVs rust as badly (or worse) than automobiles did in the 1970s. This is because the factories in China cut corners in sacrificial anode rust protection, because like all quality enhancing technology, costs money and is a long-term problem to the car owner (in the 1970s, this was less known to automotive manufacturers). Clearly, unlike most non-Chinese automotive manufacturers these days, the CCP (or it's corporate enitites, like BYD) don't care about long-term goods quality and will cut corners in manufacturing to cheapen these vehicles.
