War is not just about pride and arrogance, it is about economic systems (dominance), laws (and the interpretation, or not, of them), land acquisition or surrendering (by conquest force, immigration or buying/selling), technology theft, unusual military innovation, language, and political systems, e.g. democracy versus communism and finally religious beliefs. War can be and has been waged over most of these (except language which is a product of imperialism, a product of war if you like). Since the rise of China challenges the United States and its Allies, it is no longer a matter of pride and arrogance any more, the stakes have become far higher than that. At least 500 million deaths over the course of the coming conflict, sometime before 2050, after the dust has settled and the ruined cities everywhere can be rebuilt or avoided because of the radioactivity.
