  1. Some of these exercises (like destroying hostile speed boats) are pertainent. But in computer battle simulations with the entire PLAN (Chinese navy) carrier force attacking the Port of Darwin with approximately 50 carrier launched stealth JN-2Os fighters firing with long range YJ-12 anti-ship missiles, sank the entire surface warship fleet of the RAN, i.e. 3 Hobart class air-warfare defence destroyers and 8 older ANZAC class frigates (there is no patriot anti-missile shore batteries yet in the ADF, although these systems are allegedly being slated for delivery from the US next year). Yes, this was a simulated war game and yes, the computer simulator launched the JN-20s much faster than in real life, but it is still a worrying factor.
