  1. Britain's wage freeze is common across Europe and the Western World. It's a beginning of the end of Western Civilization. Like Ghandi said, "Western Civilization would be a good idea". I think the UK wants to recreate Dickens' Oliver Twist across the country, without the growth of the early industrial revolution. There are tons of problems in the UK without the political and economic courage and leadership to do anything about it. Taking about the 1930s, Stanley Baldwin is three times the men (and women) of Whitehall now.

  2. For the country that invented the railway in 1804 and 1812 milestones, in the 1960s Japan was building the Shinkanzen (bullet train) while the UK was still using steam trains for inter-city travel. Very poor form indeed. Invented something then neglect it. Isn't that very British?
