Worse, much of the soil and water of China (in arable areas) are highly toxified by organochloride pesticide or heavy metal effluent run off from industry, so these lands are at a point of being a permanent wasteland that can grow nothing and even put a highrise on (because the buried rubbish makes the land too unstable for foundations). China's food production is shrinking and it's fresh water is polluted and dangerous for animals and humans to drink. It's production without environmental responsibility. That's the "Socialist paradise" for you. I even watched a video made by the China Show that demonstrated that some parts of China the barren hills, dead grass and trees are spray painted green! That's a Potemkin Village environment for you. Could you live in such a toxic green painted wasteland and survive there?
