  1. This explains why China is overall not wealthy, but at the lower end of a middle income country. The average citizen in Brazil is wealthier than the average Chinese is. The CCP is now skirting stagflation (it's probably already occuring), whereas the US is currently inflationary but not stagflationary. Stagflation is what ended the Soviet Union. The CCP is heading the same way, despite the earlier market reforms (partial privatization) of Deng Xiaoping, now being deliberately reversed by Xi Jinping.

  2. Actually, the government spends 30% of my income. It's called taxation. I suppose that's better than spending 90% of my income and leaving me with the crumbs (Communist style).
