  1. At least 25% of China's population live under the extreme poverty line of making US$1.50 per day. This is not a wealthy country like Germany and the United States. The bright spot for the Germans in energy supply, particularly in natural gas (it's a feeble ray of sunshine, I know) but China's economy is collapsing now, with further recession as Xi Jinping remains in power, which is highly likely. This frees up global supply of LNG in the medium term. Further, this frees up LNG ship imports to Germany, which would work if they built at least one loading terminal to receive the gas. Better to have expensive energy, than none at all.
