  2. Video image of the Shandong carrier belching out smoke from it's funnel. This is not good, it gives away the position of the ship visually, even when the ship is below the horizon. Yes, there is radar, but a visual confirmation aids friend-or-foe identification.

  3. They stole the ski-jump carrier design as well. Verbatim. The Liaoning was a Soviet era carrier (the Varyag) before downgrading to a floating casino. The PLAAN bought it and revamped it. Hence at least 2 carriers are Soviet era carriers. The Fujian carrier is the first designed carrier (a 1950s USS Kitty Hawk, CV-63 carrier copy), after it's Soviet era ski-jump carriers. So the PLAAN don't have any new design carriers.
