  1. There is a video shot of peasant farmers harvesting wheat using a sickle. This is worse than medieval (in Europe in the middle ages, farmers and peasants used a scythe, which is 3 times more efficient than a sickle to harvest wheat and barley). In any case, harvesting that way, without a combine harvester machine is very labour intensive and inefficient.
