  1. Dogfighting in fighter aircraft went out decades ago. The modern tactic is detect your opponent before he does and then fire a long or medium range missiles. Many times, your opponent never comes into seeing viewing range. Manoeuvrability in fighter aircraft is to avoid missiles, not from attacking jets getting on your tail mainly. This is where stealth is superior. You see the opponent before he sees you and you can fire off your missiles first. Hence, you have already gained an active seeking ordinances and range advantage. PLA missiles are not quite as advanced as NATO missiles; they are heavier and are less manoeuvrable near their target (and so are easier to evade). They might carry a larger warhead than their NATO counterparts, which is advantageous. The missile almost never physically hits. It explodes close to the target when the proximity fuze senses it. Hence, air superiority war is now stealth and missile war. China is significantly behind US technology in this.
