  1. Interesting to hear about the political manoeoverings of the top CCP officials, past and present. It's positively Machiavellian and deeply unethical. Of course, there is little checks on power of the CCP at the national level (no universal suffrage in mainland China and the Politbureau is largely a rubber-stamp body, now completely under the thumb of Jinping). The near total control of the news media there in CCP China means that these important backstabbing events, in this luxurious palace complex ("serve the people", indeed) remain unreported or whitewashed.
