  1. While I approve of public transport system because it is : 1, Safer (usually, although in China's case I am unsure) and, 2. Produces considerably less carbon emissions per passenger kilometre than driving a car. Public transport ticket prices are usually subsidized in many cities where they are deployed around the world. This is because the government wishes to encourage riding public transport as a green measure than driving a car, so keeps the ticket prices down than actually profitable. Generally, public transport is a good idea (much safer and greener than EVs) except many train lines and bus routes are inappropriately located meaning people have to cycle or drive considerable distances to the stations from their houses.
