  1. Nestorian (Eastern Orthodox) Christianity probably arrived in China before Jews and Judaism. In the 8th century according to Chinese records. Similarly from Persia (as the Nestorians), Judaism arrived in China. But as one of the three branches of the pan-Abrahamic religion (the other two being Christianity and Islam), Judaism is not proselytised to non-Jews typically (as being a covenant of God only to the peoples or tribe of Moses, according to their religious scripture). So the Chinese Jews would have faced assimilation problems into the mainstream pan-orthodoxy of China particularly Confucism, as with many Jewish communities to pan-orthodoxies elsewhere. Isn't mythology (any religion) astonishing?
