  1. The Russians of the Soviet era had a deep dislike and suspicion of other Eastern Europeans, such as Poles, Hungarians, Romanians and Czechs. Being farmers did not protect you. Stalin had committed genocide against his own fellow Russian Kulaks (well-off farmers owning land. Stalin also was Georgian, not Russian). Just being one of these nationalities was enough to have you thrown into a gulag. The Soviet Union grabbed these countries under the Iron Curtin Warsaw Pact and put these peoples under repressive and corrupt puppet Communist regimes.

  2. Fascism is not National Socialism. There were commonalitly between the two, such as nationalising all assets to the state. For example in steel making and transport, but these two totalitarian movements had different scapegoats. For Fascists it was capitalists and nobility (there was a king of Italy back then) and for National Socialists it was the Jews (as being capitalists and also racialist politics). The Fascists, who orginated in Italy, were not anti-Jewish per se (some notible Italian Jews joined the Fascists). Oswald Moseley,the British Fascist leader and disgruntled failed politician, was more ideologically aligned with Mussolini than Hitler. To Hitler, Mussolini was an ally, not necessarily a fellow traveller. But both Nationali Socialists and Fascists were socialists; nationalize everything, abolish private property and act on the (government) planned economy and abolish free market capitalism under an authoritarian government. Why Hitler hated the Communists was that it was founded by a Jew (Karl Marx) and it's initial leaders were also Jewish such as Leon Trotsky. Hitler had no problem with the totalitarian nature of Communism (ironically) but the Soviet Union was initially run by Trotsky (and Lenin) and Hitler folded in Communism with democracy as a world Jewish conspiracy and to advocate for the Jewish stab-in-the-back myth that was perpetrated by Fiield Marshall Erick Ludendorff to divert attention away from his disasterous Kaiserschlacht in 1918.
