  1. The combustion engine is 150 years old. About time they r replacing it with a more efficient electrical engine with direct drive (no need for gearboxes & transmission). Diesel engines might eventually limited to ships and trains only with gasoline engines used in the aircraft industry (although more than half the world's petroleum is used for pushing ships around the seas).
