  1. If you look at the Cursed Map, it has the Mediterreanean Sea in the middle of Australia. Ah yes, i get it now. Early 19th century white explorers of Australia (like Oxley and Sturt), were "convinced" of an inland sea in the middle of Australia (erroneously), because the rivers of New South Wales (which was Australia's first colony) seemingly drained Westwards from the Great Dividing Range on the East coast. Hence, there must be a "sea" in the middle.
