  1. The CCP developed the Belt and Road (a decade ago) without concerns for the ability of the host country to pay back the loans. A lot of these loans were also corruptly arranged by the country's social elites as well, not including any of their own local people in building the large project; the CCP imported their own Chinese workers. Furthermore, there was little benefit to the local economy with these showpiece projects (e.g. large under-used bridges to nowhere) and many of these projects broke down after a short while (tofu dreg infrastructure). This was funded in the main by Chinese banks (i.e. CCP government loans), many which will not be redeemed in the long term and will plunge the country paying fir these useless project into more debt and poverty for generations. Loans with a different political set of contraints than the IMF; worse in my opinion. Belt and Road; Mafia loans of buy now and pay later at higher interest than IMF funding.
