Just adding support to your comment on the Holocaust, which i agree was socially (and centrally) planned, the Holodomor (starvation) in the Ukraine (and other Soviet republics) was a socially and centrally planned democide by Stalin, just like the Holocaust by the Nazis. Same for the Great Leap Forward by Mao Zedong, and so on.
