Tami Davis Biddle may have been anti-war (as am i), but by describing the human faces and women and children killed (horrible though that is) to describe Dresden and to ignore similar effects caused by the Luftwaffe and pilotless missile bombing (V1 and V2 missiles) of British cities in 1940-45 (Coventry in 1940), bombing of Rotterdam etc, is shallow and incomplete at best.

The two finger image of Churchill. This speaks volumes about the man from enemies and allies alike.

War crimes happened in their hundreds or thousands of events on both sides during WW2. The bombing of Coventry by the Luftwaffe was a war crime as was Rotterdam and Warsaw. Where do we put a threshold? When more than a thousand civilians are killed any one air raid by any side is classified as a "war crime"? That would make hundreds of war crimes during WW2 from aerial attacks from both sides alone (the Japanese bombing Chinese cities inclusive). The real point I want to make is that the right of the nation state to bear arms is not legally rescinded throughout countries on planet Earth to this day and so the possibilities of war crimes continue until the present and into the future. As the historian Niall Ferguson succinctly pointed out that WW2 (a peculiarly racialist war) that the conflict was between evil (the Axis powers) and lesser evil (the Allies). None of the belligerent state actors in that conflict were "good guys", and all war aims were political and seemingly ongoing nearly 80 years afterwards.
