  1. Marriage is a quasi-feudal mafia-like operation anyway (note the Godfather movie). I have no respect for the tradition of it, anywhere - inside or outside China. I've heard of bride price, which is a clumsy form of divorce insurance (the woman devolves back to her family & is deemed she can't support herself, like a child). Damnation to ultra-conservative thought. However, that aside, I do have respect for history and cultural history, including that of China. The CCP youthful thugs during the cultural revolution smashed and burned much of old and venerable China, nearly destroying 3000 years of civilization history. Now, that's disrespect of the worst sort; nationalistic self loathing.
