But recall that Western societies were more racist 60 years ago (why did Martin Luther King had to be a public advocate against racism in the United States at that time)? Also South Africa was racist until 25 years ago. However, I do notice according to your comments about racism in mainland China (which I believe), that this society and culture (vis-à-vis racism) is 60 years behind pluralistic democratic societies. We may attribute this to the dictatorship and oppression that they labour under, and the lack of civil society that ensues.
