Good that you can separate the executive (government), from the people. However, the CCP have the power & distort and warp the minds of their citizens with class war propaganda and outrageous lies, which has been going on for 70 years and which is difficult to separate in the minds of ordinary mainland Chinese who have had to listen to decades of it. This distortion is compounded by nationalism, so the last thing most mainland Chinese want to hear is foreigners criticising their government, which in their minds is a racist (which it isn't) slur against China (which it is not meant to be).
