  1. Solar roofs; kind of uses more energy to heat your house during Northern winter, not less. So it ADDS to global emissions, compared to not installed, and costs more money to keep warm, as you burn more gas etc. Hence, a double waste of money.

  2. A better solution to renewable energy in Northern climates is wind generation for example. This however, requires researching local wind velocity data inland to find better average wind sites.
