  1. No non-microbial extraterrestrial life will look like any vertibrate on Earth, that's for sure. Steven J. Gould said (from looking at the extraordinary Burgess Shale fossils), that if we rewound life to the beginning of the Cambrian and started evolution all over again, the results would be very suprising, unpredictable and probably not include any vertibrates.
