If you are betting on the intelligence of the American public -- good luck with that. The American public still thinks Bernie is a socialist though the simple difference between socialism and a social democracy has been explained to them hundreds of times. In case you are one of the dimwits: the major difference is that, in a socialist state the government owns the industry and means of production while in a social democracy the economic system is capitalist and the government attempts to maintain some small degree of equality by neutralizing the maleficent effects of the inevitable concentration of wealth into fewer and fewer hands. Apparently this simple but all important difference is too difficult to be comprehended by a population that only cares about superficial labels .

Speedy Bohlke Bernie has changed his mind about many things since he was in his twenties, as should everyone with a brain that hasn't atrophied. Show me a reference where he currently advocates for the take over of private industry. You can't. You may not be a fool, I don't know, but you are certainly a partisan and totally biased in this regard. And like I said you are only concerned with superficial labels.

Speedy Bohlke You mistake me for someone who is interested in your opinions. Yale study says medicare for all will save over 450 billion dollars a year and save 65,000 lives. Cost overhead for present system is 12.5%. Cost overhead for present medicare system is 2.5%. Now let's see if liars can actually figure. . . .

You don't know the difference between communism, socialism, and the form of capitalism known as democratic socialism. All you seem to have learned is the brainwashing that the power-elite spoon feeds fools 24/7. Fact: All the democratic socialist countries are capitalist. Fact: Neither Venezuela, nor Cuba is a social democracy. Fact: All the democratic socialist countries have, better and less expensive medical care than we do -- unless you are very wealthy and even then in many cases they are superior. Fact: All the democratic socialist countries have free or very inexpensive higher education. Fact: All the democratic socialist countries have financial safety nets and inexpensive or free childcare, and maternity leaves for both parents. Fact: All the democratic socialist countries have paid vacations that are usually about five weeks a year. Fact: The citizens of democratic socialist countries are happier than Americans on average. Fact: And this one should just make you slap your face if you have a brain in your head: All the democratic socialist countries have higher social mobility than the USA. That mean that if you are born into the lower financial class you have a better chance of ending up rich in Denmark then you do in the USA. So it seem that you are the one who has learned nothing in all your years. I, on the other hand started out as a near fascist libertarian/republican, but learned the truth about the power-elite who rule our country through deceit and disinformation, and when that doesn't work, through paid off politicians and men with guns. You can easily verify all the facts yourself, if you even have the smarts to actually tell truth from right-wingnut propaganda.
