@lisacox8109 A republic. There is only one democracy in the world today and it is also the only one in all of history that I am aware of: Switzerland.

@madhippy3 Well then we are a Kleptocratic Republic. If you look around and see anything but the facade of democracy in the USA I think it's time to look again. And actually the USA is self-defined legally as a constitutional republic or alternately as a representative democracy -- neither of which is functionally true. Functionally the USA is a fascist kleptocracy on a national level. There is just so much to steal that the fascist military/industrial cabal hasn't been able to steal it all just yet, but with less then one percent of the population owning more than a half of everything, they are well on their way. And by the time that Robert Mercer and his ilk are finished with us the entire golden future of humanity will be stolen by billionaires who would rather see the USA die than pay the taxes they owe on the money they made by producing nothing but logarithms that eat wall street, and by functional association -- everything else too.
