  3. Bernie $ VS Bloomburg $ Apologies to those who took arithmetic in elementary school. I know you already know this -- even so you may not be able to envision the difference in these fortunes and this explanation may help. Bernie has a stack of two million one dollar bills that he wants to give to Judy. Bernie is old and can only give her one dollar each second. If Bernie is wearing a catheter and doesn't need to go to the bathroom and can hand Judy dollar bills 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: how long will it take Bernie to give Judy his two million dollars? answer: There are 60 seconds in a minute and 60 minutes in an hours and 24 hours in a day: Therefore Bernie can hand Judy 86,400 dollar bills every day. So he can give her $86,000 per day. So it would take Bernie just about 23 days and three and a half hours to give Judy two million dollars. (since $86,400 goes into $2,000,000 a little over 23.15 times) In twenty three days Bernie could hand Judy his two million dollars, one dollar at a time, if he can stay awake, and he can, cause he is a vastly woke dude. How long would it take little Mike to hand Judy his 60,2 billion dollars one dollar at a time? Mike is also old and wearing a catheter, is being fed intravenously and attended by his personal medical staff. Through the wonders of modern pharmacology and a neural implant he purchased, Mike can also stay awake. But due to age Mike can also only hand Judy one dollar bill per second. So Mike, like Bernie can give Judy $86,400 per day. There are 6,759.26 ($86,400) in 60.2 billion dollars so it would take Mike six hundred and ninety six thousand seven hundred and fifty nine days to hand Judy his 60.2 billion dollars. That's 696,759.26 days. That many days equals one thousand nine hundred and eight years and a few days short of eight months. So it would take Mike 1908.93 years to hand Judy all his money (that we know of). Bernie would be broke in 23 days. Mike would be broke in 1,909 years. Who is the oligarch? Addendum: Please note that since Mike is a capitalist who profits, not from his labor or producing goods but by investment, his wealth will actually be increasing by more than $86,400 per day because of profits on his fortune. So in reality, no matter how many thousands of years he spends handing Judy his money, he would never be able to do it and would always have more to hand her each day than he did the day before. Addendum PS: Old Jewish wisdom: "Every time somebody makes something for nothing, somebody else makes nothing for something." In Bloomburg's and the other billionares cases this "somebody else" is you and everyone else. If you don't understand this you are truly blind and will never understand why wealth is concentrating in fewer and fewer hands and you are being robbed in ways you neither understand nor can do anything about without a fundamental paradigm shift in our laws, government, and cultural world-view.

  9. Yeah you realize both the parties are corrupt but you are focusing on the wrong aspect of the problem. You can't destroy this hydra of corruption by attacking one of the heads, you have to destroy the root of the corruption. Figure out how to make Campaign Finance Reform sexy, and save the nation from the criminal scumbags that are now stealing our nation. If you have two brain cells to rub together you can figure out that the funding of politics is nothing but a system of corruption that was put in place to steal as much as possible for as long as possible. A populist movement cannot win as long as the worst among us: the Mercers, Kochs, and Goldman Sachs minions, control everything through a system of corruption that they themselves have devised. Sure it seems like there are a thousand issues: Trump giving away national assets like Putin did to a bunch of rich unevolved assholes who are proud of their predation upon the populace, and their endless red herrings that get all the single issue voters at one anothers' throats: climate change, fundamentalist morons who think that the world is six thousand years old and will end tomorrow, wars in support of private business interests, wholesale surveillance of the citizens, a ridiculous number of psychopaths with badges who believe they are licensed to kill, etc. etc. etc. But I am telling you that Robert Mercer understands that the lynch pin of control is campaign finance, that’s why he funds Citizens United, and Britbart, and put Trump in office by giving him key words found by Cambridge Anaylitica to repeat over and over, in near meaningless lies, that the mindless fools that watch and believe Fox News and similar founts of lies were responding to on a limbic level. He knows that campaign finance is the key to power – do you? Until this is done, the present plutocratic kleptocracy will swiftly recover from any temporary setbacks, including bids by third parties which they will absorb. Sorry if it boars you. It’s not up to your opinion, this is the game theory, this is the facts. Robert Mercer is using the power of Artificial Intelligence against the population and government of the USA to make your voice and vote more meaningless than it already is. Campaign finance reform must be done, not because it is somebodies interest or pet interest, but because it is the only thing that CAN be done to stop this avalanche of shit the one percent is burying us under. Goldman Sachs gave the American public a choice in the last election and that choice was, “Would you rather live in shit or piss.” And thanks to 80,000 rust belt fools who were conned by a New York City conman, America chose shit. And until campaign finance is addressed and totally deprivatized you will only have a choice between shit and piss in all the coming elections. Unless a real populist like Bernie is nominated (don’t hold your breath) as he should have been, and reforms this madness. The shit we are in now is because of the neoliberal idiots who supported and cheated for Hillary and voted for her in the primary even though all the polls showed Bernie as way more likely to beat Trump than her. Trump knew it, he even said it, Cambridge Anaylitica probably told him, and still the Hillary supporters deny it. As Gurdjieff wrote, “Even God has no defense against stupidity.” Blessings to those of evolving conscience.

  13. Concerning Iowa: We will figure out exactly how they cheated, then we will figure out the next way that they cheated, and the one after that, and so on: with a factual and rational narrative about the qualities of people who would do such things. We will even say, "They said it couldn't happen here.": out of ironic gallows humor. Maybe at times their cheating will be so outrageous that hundreds of thousand of people will march or occupy something, but amazingly, almost miraculously Mitch and Lindsey, and the rest of Caligula JR's little unholy Greek chorus will retain their offices, and they will go on cheating and bullying and claiming that the law is what ever they think it is at the moment. And we will figure it all out. And you will make it funny and entertaining. But now we have reached a point in politics where: as in the attempt to transcend one's own habitual mode of mental functioning: knowing doesn't matter. You may know that the associative functioning of the thought-centric mind is mechanical, but that doesn't transcend or transform anything. So it is with our political system. We have known forever that it would be best to get all money out of politics if the most ethical and fair government is what you want. We have known forever that proportional representation is superior to winner-takes-all seesaws. We have known that the banks are incapable of regulating themselves and that the wealth of the nation is being sucked up by the military industrial professional political worker complex, that the drug war is a farce that has created the first billionaire criminal organizations. In our hollowed out lives, news has become entertainment. And the fantasyland they present to the public is a poor substitute for what should have been the golden destiny of mankind on earth and in regions beyond.

  32. Comment part 1 Sheltered as I am, and as much a fool as I allow myself to be on a daily basis: I will now proceed my pouring from the empty into the void by giving a brief outline of how an optimal human government should be arranged. In fact, one objective look at the so-called political systems, and their underpinning, that populate our planet should inform the observer that what is happening is just window dressing on barbarism, it's just a theater of the mind, a velvet glove on an iron fist. I don't know of any system of government or rule that rises above the idiotic, or so it would seem, if the object of the system is to optimize, as much as is possible, all honorable aspects of human existence, and to curtail those commonly deemed as undesirable, the present systems of governance found on earth are archaic trash: just an excuse for the same old kleptocratic autocompulsive psychopaths, to further inflate their already vein-glorious mini-minds in the vacuous reflections of the sycophants that surround and enable their insanity because of their own highly deviated and corrupted survival impulse. They wish they were a real boy, but despite the world of suffering they create by trying to fill their truly vacuous lives with babbles of all types, real life eludes them, and always will. Even ole' Socrates knew that a person that seeks power should never be trusted with it. Human political culture is a joke. An eighth grade class could come up with a better system than the battered whore the banksters and one percent -- have afforded the world. It's a joke, a sin, and a wasted opportunity to evolve our culture into one that would nurture the greatness that humanity could be. But we ain't great, and we never have been, though for sure, an individual here and there, now and then has been -- great that is. Though to tell you the truth Alexander wasn't, and neither was his teacher Aristotle. Two utter failures that the world has adored for over two millennia. So wad ya gonna due -- aye? Real democracy is something usually only found in a direct democracy. Representational Democracy, Republics, Constitutional Republic, etc, are a device used to lead the capite censi to believe that they live in a participatory democracy while allowing the plutocrats to stay in control of the things that matter to them. A few prefectures in Switzerland have a direct democracy, or if you allow, a REAL democracy, but as far as I am aware, they are the only such democracy in the world today and in all of history. Personally I would prefer a sort of democratic neoconfusian techno-meritocracy, wherein people would not vote for candidates, but for the tests and various VR simulated scenarios submitted for consideration by experts in testing of psychological fitness and problem solving abilities that would be appropriate for the office being sought. Tests that would be open to all citizens at all times in order to challenge those who held various government offices, and replace them if they scored higher than the current occupant.

  50. The corporate news is still trying to black-out Bernie. Bernie, and Tulsi are the only candidates with any integrity, something the networks and cable news despises. Bernie understands that the lynch-pin of all the legalized corruption in our constitutional republic is campaign finance. What now passes for "business as usual" was not long ago a criminal act. But many progressives do not understand this. They are bored by the subject but excited by all kinds of meaningless PC rhetoric. While I was at a Nader rally in Santa Cruz back during his 2000 run, he said he had time for one more question. I yelled out "Campaign finance!" When he indicated that this was the subject he would address there was an audible groan from this most progressive crowd in America's most leftest town, . I guess most people never consider the fact that if Nader had won, we would have never attacked Iraq and the 2008 great recession (where-in the same people who caused it were put in charge of fixing it and managed to steal trillions in public funds for themselves and the institutions they hid their criminal activities behind) would never have occurred. And I would like to remind everyone that the criminals behind this, who had bribed the legislative branch with campaign contributions, were also the people who changed the laws to allow this disastrous turn of our republic. Which was unequaled until the retrograde idiot section of the supreme court passed Citizens United and other decisions of a antiAmerican nature that benefited the one-percent and their brain-washed right-wing idiot minions. Sorry if this comment went on for longer than a Twitter-brain can attend to. But if you notice, the comments that always get the most likes are always the most obvious and usually the most knee-jerk in nature. Never believe the "first-story": whether given by the government, the corporate news, the republocrats, or your own reactionary quite mechanical mind
