The truth about greenhouse gases is that 87% of the greenhouse gas is produced by animal agriculture. The truth about fighting for the future of civilization is that it is a far more significant act to stop buying and using the products of animal agriculture than it is to march and bitch about any of the many different processes that in total, combined, only account for 13% of the greenhouse gases that humans produce. The truth about humans is that they would rather bitch and moan or ignore the situation until the choice is not whether one should adjust their rapacious lifestyle to have a diet that is plant based, but rather whether or not their grandchildren should eat their babies in order to live a little longer. The fact that it is healthier to eat a nutritionally dense plant based diet than any other kind, is, along with saving advanced human civilization, also of some benefit. The truth about ignorance, is that the new modern form of ignorance, such as that proudly exhibited by the Trump cultists, is not the lack of facts, but rather total immunity to them. The truth about the chances of avoiding a major disruption of all human civilization is about the same as it is for the people who are too stupid to realize how dumb they are to suddenly become ashamed of their ignorance instead of being proud of it. . . . Or about the same chance as someone who is addicted to meat and dairy coming to understand that what is killing them is also destroying the very fabric that makes the environment habitable by humans. So much easier to belief the disinformation diffused by the meat and dairy industries, who have taken a page from the tobacco handbook -- one only needs to instill doubt about real scientific data by introducing biased lies posing as science, brought to you by the same evil bastards who fought in the courts and arena of public opinion championing tobacco. Don't point your fingers at the pollution caused by ICE automobiles, or jets, or electric generators running on coal or oil, these causes are important, yes, but diversionary. Look in the mirror when you sit down to eat, if you are eating meat or dairy products, then you are personally advancing the degradation of the world climate, and your concerns about climate change, if you have any, are essentially hypocrisy.

  2.  @Straydingo  Well nobody said that ignorance cannot be quite soothing in a somnambulistic kind of way. The fact that you are proud of your ignorance puts you right in the center of the bell curve of stupid, and complete immunity to facts. Not only is it scientific fact that you are contributing to the degradation of climate but you are eating crap that has been designated a class 1 carcinogen by those pesky scientists. So sorry that reality is not congruent with your habitual stupor and kneejerk reactionary mode of dealing with proven issues that you don't like. But all that doesn't matter: nobody is going to tell you what to do -- aye? As Gurdjieff said. "Even God himself has no defense against stupid." Thanks for sharing your feelings -- they reflect an attitude that is common as dirt and wildly inane.
