@jorgealvarado3512 You can legally buy the seeds. You can legally grow the flowers. You cannot legally harvest the straw or pods. They are legal only as ornamental plants. If you grew enough poppies to take care of chronic pain on your property you would receive an abrupt visit from the police or DEA and be charged with a number of serious crimes. The seeds are legal to eat. I guess tea from the seeds is legal, but you would have to grow a lot of plants to get enough seeds to do you any good for chronic pain or take care of any addiction to inject-able street drugs. The DEA has already curtailed the sale of pods for ornaments. Used to be a big market on ebay. But quietly it went away. You used to be able to easily get seeds that were not washed with chemicals or water. Now not so easily. Eventually that will all go quietly away too. The AMA does not want to give up it monopoly on medicine. In many countries like Canada pain meds like hydrocodone are OTC meds that anyone can get without a prescription.

The biggest thing we could do to reduce greenhouse gases is to replant forests on the lands that have been clear-cut for pastureland. Cutting down the forests for grazing land resulted in 87% of the greenhouse gases. That is really the only hope, to reverse climate change, you would have to have forests back to the level of the 1800s. This will never happen because most people would have to give up hamburgers and milkshakes. It is not true that Globl Warming cannot be reversed in short order. If most of the people on earth stopped buying the products of animal agriculture and let the forests regrow where they had been cleared for grazing it would reverse in a matter of years.
