EA was started with money from VW group as part of fine they had to pay for planned and executed felony cheating on emissions tests. They rigged the car computers to report lower emissions and circumvent US law. How could you expect any system that was initiated as a part of punishment to work? Tesla's system works. Your concern is irrelevant and smacks of a Teslsa hater, like a union shill, or a dealership owner/investor, big oil -- take your pick, they continuously flood the media with lies about Tesla or concerns that are meaningless like yours. Tesla has paid back every dollar the govenment granted it with interest Less than four years after borrowing $465 million from the government, Tesla has become the first automaker to repay its loan under the Energy Department's Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing program. GM only appeared to pay back its bailout loan. But the debt was only part of the automaker bailout package. Through the Troubled Asset Relief Program, the Treasury gave GM $49.5 billion, most of which was converted into an ownership stake in the form of stock. Through this equity stake, the government still owns 61 percent of GM. That's why it is refferred to as Government Motors, a total rip off of the taxpayer, by repaying in stock that lost value in seconds, and has a very real chance of becoming worthless in the coming decade.
