  2.  @issyjas3309  I think that many "math teachers" at the high school level and especially below that, really have no understanding of what they are teaching outside of having memorized the maths. If you ask them what practical use some equation may have, a lot of them will have no idea even though they know how to solve it. Many people have trouble being interested in, and/or learning, something that is just memorization of rules without any info on how and why it was developed and is used for.

  3. How about this: instead of making this something that has psuedo-acceptable qualifiers and institutionalizing it, just make it a right for everyone to grow any plant they want for personal use or the use of someone they provide care for.

  5. Though all authentic religions have their origin in an instance of expanded conscious awareness, no religion is about this experience even if it claims to be. In fact if it were not for those who attempted in one way or another to achieve such an enlightenment and failed, no body would have heard about the possibility at all. All communications about it are incorrect and cannot be otherwise. Regarding achieving such an exalted state, if you can think it: it cannot be correct. All your "spiritual" or metaphysical, heroes were failures: those that existed as more than metaphors that is. The possibility to ignite the dormant potential of awakening this totally physical epigenetic mode of enhanced awareness is not and can never be a subject. It is not something that can be approached or achieved by the thought-centric-associative-process that modern humans refer to as "me", or "i" and which is truly a totally automatic process that is the growing tip of the survival instinct. The reality of this is so far from what the "experts" or anyone has to say about it, that if one were actually seriously pursuing such an experience they would do best to just totally ignore what anyone including themselves and myself had to say about it. They would realize that the relationship that such conferences as this had to do with it, is about the same relationship as that which Fox news has to real events. It is entertainment and nothing more, for those who are satisfied with thoughts and dreams that originate with those who are indulging in hearsay, or at best, having had a taste of such a state, are so baffled by it that they can only resort to religious, or memes about "consiousness" when they are no longer in it. Enlightenment is not a concept. Nothing real or accurate can be said about it. It cannot be studied a little at a time like math or religion. Nothing leads to it and no one can lead you there. It is not an intellectual conclusion, idea, or belief. It is as physical as a heart attack, and nearly as devastating, if you find extreme astonishment devastating. It has nothing to do, not even tangentially, with anything that you or anyone else has ever thought about it.

  6. Regarding the question at 59:33: my goodness, "All men are created equal" is rhetoric. No men are created equal except identical twins and even they do not remain equal in certain regards. The only possibility of equality among humans is equality before the law, and equality of those aspects of society that we intentionally determine to impose degrees of equality upon, such as healthcare etc. And we have fallen woefully short in our beliefs and actual enactments of these. Before the law there are the power elite and their enablers, and the capite censi: two classes as distinct as the nobles and the peasants of the Dark Ages, and as the recent studies verify: which are so embedded in our plutocratic kleptocracy as to be ambient and go unnoticed until there is trouble. No problem until there is trouble may as we be the slogan of the power elite. The species is weeping for a neoConfusian technomeritocracy the world over, yet the power hungry psychopaths remain the leaders of our culture world-wide.

Their are conscious organisms, such as lizards and birds (while they are not sleeping at least), and their are self-conscious organisms (like some humans, who at times are aware that they are conscious, like now, now that I brought it up) but there is no "consciousness" outside of the act of being conscious, anymore than their is a "runningness" while sitting and reading. Another example of misunderstanding arising from the same old propensity. And the propensity is found in the amazingly creative ability for the associative thought-centric mind to create conceptual models that do not correspond to reality. Therefore providing civilization, culture, and technology to all the little particleules like youses and meses. If you like: associate concepts about it -- but you can't get here from there. Even if for some reason you suspect that you want to, which you won't.

  11. 49:40 that is why most find relief from: the majesty of existence, the shocking implications of the mundane, and the incomparable unlikelihood of the real -- in beliefs that muddy up the whole proposition and provide longed for reversion to automatic functioning of the associative thought-centric and quite free-will devoid "mind". If the need to entertain any story, no matter how lame, becomes feverish, we could be in a good spot, we could be in a bad spot, dependent on the pointedness of our point of view. If things get too clear we can always turn on the TV, or read a metaphysical tome, or watch a YouTube video that stimulates associations we enjoy, or worst yet most soothing of all, simply reminisce with limbic seasonings. Keeps things in homeostatic balance: that being the glacial progress, with the emphasis on stasis, that evolution favors so much on the collective level -- not that it will do us any personal good outside of antibiotics and such.

  15. 40:00 Some of those stories are failed explanations of the physical reality of the ignition of dormant possibilities within the nervous and limbic systems, as opposed to the versa visa. All concepts about such, are misconceptions, and can be nothing else. Or to put it simply: just because you are not talking or thinking does not mean you are awake, but if your are talking or thinking, it does mean that you aren't. At least while you are thinking or talking.

  16. I'll save you the time of watching this, I didn't and don't need to. If you think your brain is the so-called conscious associative mind. It is possible to upload it, because what you think of as you, or "I" is completely mechanical. I know you cannot see this, your not supposed to be able to for your own good (in most cases). Your subjective experience is not a truly conscious experience. Your subjective experience is determined not by what you consider to be you, or your consciousness (consciousness is an illusion just as runningness would be an illusion for a runner who is sitting) but by the metabolic substrate in which your subjective experience takes place. This has been demonstrated that "consciousness" is the last to know about events that your unconscious aspects have already reacted to. So yes the mechanical illusion you refer to as the mind could be simulated and uploaded, but it would be a shadow of what a person really is, a shadow of a shadow really, and without the anchoring in reality provided by a limbic system and other essential aspects of your animal nature it would be quite insane in short order. Well actually it would not even be authentically insane, just an approximation of a mechanism that is not conscious as you believe it to be because your are entirely identified with it, but without the belief in its indispensable illusion of identity. Sorry if that doesn't make sense to you. If it doesn't it is because you are entirely identified with the quite mechanical dynamics of the thought-centric-mind and have never see it's/your true nature.
