  1. I think that Tesla moving sideways right now is the result of the day traders of all magnitudes causing a compressed homeostasis. Seems quite likely to me that when they abandon day-trading Tesla, because of the lack of day to day volatility, that it will increase in value rapidly until the traders intervene again.

No I think it is mostly because they use metrics that are ill-suited to measuring the value potential that Tesla really represents, and the magnificent domination it has in reality over the companies they are continually comparing it to, all of whom have yet to make a profit on an EV and are collectively perpetually a day late and a dollar short on the tech.

  4. I am a Tesla investor and was proud of it, until Elon began to spread idiotic disinformation and partisan spin and lies through X. X is a cesspool from what I see of it and yet people pay to do on X what is free elsewhere on the net. Elon is definitely intelligent enough to see that Trump is a monumental A hole. So the question is: What is the purpose of Elon's inane action, in supporting him. Like his trumpeting of the need for "Free Speech, which is really the support for the deluge of lies and conspiracy theories that has taken over social media. But Elon is in a position where he will soon be able to control the social dialogue with an unprecedented power never before seen on earth. The combination of X and XAI will allow him to almost take over the social media discourse for hundreds of millions of people. This whole championing of free speech by him is really a Trojan horse, by which he is championing the right to lie through the media, because that is what he intends to do with it: make his political lies a reality on a scale that the foremost liar of our times -- Trump -- can only dream of. Too bad about Musk, the power has finally corrupted him, and he only wants more of it. Him referring to himself as Darth MAGA at the Trump rally where he danced around like a fool was all too accurate, and probably something he intended as an insult to the intelligence of the very people who believe his nonsense. Despite this I intend to buy another Tesla because he only owns 14% of the company, is a great manager when it comes to manufacturing and growing Tesla, but he has become corrupted by power as do all humans. I had actually expected better from him.

  11. Hey I like Elon: when he is being intelligent and talking about what he knows about. I see where he is coming from: given two horrible choices politically, which is the least bad. But look at the stuff he posts on X. He has no concern whatsoever for the retail investors, many of whom have hung their future on his intelligence and vision. But here's the thing you guys don't understand. He cannot stop. It's compulsive. He just can't shut the F up about stuff that his opinion is no more elevated or objective than a person without millions of followers and he is screwing over the people who support him most. After he told us how much he loves us. If he loved the retail investors that have supported his vision through thick and thin he would just shut the F up. But he can't. He can't shut up. He needs therapy.

  12. Too bad about Elon. The idea that "free speech" is the bedrock of democracy would be true IF the media wasn't saturated with lies and spin. Democracy looses all it's qualities, in such an environment. Trump is free to speak, and most of his speech is lies and just idiotic mistakes, and it has done the opposite of help democracy. In fact if he could, Trump would be king. F him very much. Elon is just making a hail mary move to try to gain more power than he already has. Just too bad about Elon, going over to the dark side.

  13. Luckily for Tesla, either party winning the election will provide further barriers to Chinese imports. Of course there is always the corruption of officials to worry about. And the Chinese do not play fair either, but they are making great EVs, many are more advanced than Tesla, and they are priced much lower.

  14. Yeah right except for the most desirable standard of living on earth, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, the Netherlands, all democratic socialists. And they actually have more freedom than the totally capitalist counties -- like -- well there are none except for those where the gov totally failed like Somalia. They tried this in Chile when the scoundrels from Chicago took over the economy and plunged it into capitalist hell. Though I do find it detestable that the US gov attempts time and time again to punish Tesla for being a fantastic success. But this is all old think, these days are almost gone, a degree of socialism will be a necessity when the effects of revolutionary tech like AI, robots, and medical advances bring on the world of super abundance, despite the harping of politicians on both sides. If you really study history and mankind in general, it is obvious that the leaders we choose ARE the main problem. We naturally choose psychopaths as the alphas, and the time for this has long passed. Time to start psychological testing of all political hacks, and have them compete in tests and stimulated scenarios before the can even get on any ballot.

  15. A decade later than when? After WW2 there were no real quality Japanese goods sold in America, and those that were, were inferior, except for possibly porcelain and certain art objects. I was around and didn't see any. First Japanese small motorcycles then eventually cars appeared in the mid to late sixties. Most WW2 vets who fought in the pacific never bought Japanese cars. My father and all of his bros who fought in the south pacific campaign never knowingly bought anything Japanese for their entire lifetime.

  16. I think FSD adoption, when it comes, will largely be a legal matter. Is Tesla or other systems that have proven that they are vastly safer then humans (especially in sleepy, drunk, or aged condition) going to be given special consideration regarding law suits in order that the populace can enjoy a dramatically lower number of vehicle accidents?
