  1. Once the data is out, insurance companies will be giving discounts if you use FSD most of the time. What Tesla needs is gov. protection from predatory law suits. This could be with a pool from which funds are drawn or straight legislation limiting the types of lawsuits that can be applied to FSD. Of course any of these changes will only happen when the ratio of crashes caused by human error vs Tesla FSD is understood by regulators and politicians, because the public in their ignorance would rather see a hundred people die from human error than one from machine error.

  2. That is true now, but future developments in AI may allow easier, cheaper, less compute intensive FSD. But I doubt it will happen in time to save them.
