I know this generally does not play in the decision of what car a person would purchase, but on a purely moral level -- despite the copious media FUD to the contrary (which we all know is motivated purely because of pecuniary interest on the part of the media companies true agenda which is to sell ad space/time and cover the short positions of the holding companies that really own them {so grow up}) AS I was saying: on a purely moral level VW deserves to fail, and fail miserably, as does Mercedies, Porsche, GM, and probably others. Other than Tesla if there is a OEM that has operated in anything other than a truly criminal manner, at times, I am not aware of it -- perhaps some minor players that don't really move any metrics have, I don't know. Maybe you do.
But all these companies would end up in hell if we were judging them from a Medieval perspective, or in jail if we used a criminal metric.
And the poetic irony of it is, that they continually have various shills and interested parties spreading disinformation at light speed on a daily basis, accusing Tesla of doing what they have been found to have been doing all along.
Too bad people don't consider the moral behavior or intentions of a company in their purchasing decision, because the major OEMs that would hold up to scrutiny are very few.
